I have a Millermatic 35 and a tweco No 6 gun and the gun has reached the point that I need to replace the gun. I have a 15 ft gun now but will go to a shorter gun next time. I am trying to post pictures but have not been able to do so. Any help would be appricated. Thanks big dan

That is a huge gun for the old MM35. 200 ams would be fine for the output of the 35. You can get a gun for around $100.00 no prob..

From playing with display machines in the tool store, I have to say I love the feel of tweco guns. Plus tips are super easy to find.

Why not to to a welding shop, and just pretend to lay a bead with the different guns on display? That way you could find the gun that fits you the best, and know a place that has the tips.
Best way I can think of to find the gun that's the best for you.

I will go monday and see if they have some guns that will work. The Tweco #6 that is on it has worked well for me. It came with the welder when I bought it at a auction. The gun had seen some abuse while it was used. The gun had some mixed up parts that worked sort of. We replaced the parts with tweco parts and it has lasted for 10 or 12 years of light use. There is duct tape on the gun to keep the gas from leaking. Have replaced the liner just time to retire it and get a new one. Thanks again big dan

In the 1970s I worked in a Fab shop, all they would buy us was Tweco model 4 guns. I have a model 2 and a knock off model 4 for the high amp welding.

Hi there
Have used Tweko no 5 with 1.2mm wire since the 80's. Best there is! Bite the bullet and get a new 3metre Tweco. You wont be sorry!

I agree that the tweco # 5 is a great gun but the OP wants to use it on a 150 amp welder. #5 ia a Monster sized 500 amp gun. I would suggest one of the new 180 or 220 amp Tweco Fusion guns. low cost and new technology. Good Luck.

Look at Profax's selection before you buy. Prices are cheaper and they have good quality. Different styles as well.

Yeah Gypo Profax. No technology there but they fit well on everlast migs..lol.But if you want to save some $$, Check out Longevity Mig units, Better Quality as well.

Yomax, not sure you are qualified to make that statement... Quality or otherwise about our products. I think you just lost a little (if not a lot) of respect with that comment, not only in my eyes, but others here as well. But I am not sure why that came up since this was about torches not other welder companies. For a professional, that wasn't. Profax puts out good quality at a good price and whether it's on our units or other brands, everyone I know who has used them has been more than satisfied, including me (not on Everlast btw).

Victor/Thermal Arc controls/owns TWECO, and as you are a rep for them, seeing a good manufacturer that offers DIFFERENT equivalent brands and models could get under your skin I guess...but why should it threaten you so? Did you look at SA's post with the picture of the Profax beside the TWECO? Profax makes more than TWECO interchangeable products btw...and they do a decent job of it.

There is nothing to lose on this site come on. The OP was looking for a genuine tweco gun..It was intended as a light hearted jab similar to the one you gave me a few weeks ago. Get over it.

What about the tweco spray master guns? I really like the look of them.
Not sure how the pricing compares though....

I just checked the pricing, and I think I will stick to a number 2 tweco..... LOL
Both real pricey, but the number 2 looks a little nicer to use.

I found that this welder had an adaptor on it. When I pulled the adaptor off I discovered that it was a tweco lak-1. When I looked up that # at tweco I found that it fit a #4 tweco pin. The #4 tweco pin is used on lincoln welders and the welding store had them in stock. I went with a benard gun. When I bought the gun there was a man from a welding shop that used the benard guns everyday. When I bought the gun I ordered 10 extra tips (I had used a lot of tips as the gun I had was failing) the man said that I would never use that many tips. Boy I hope so. Thanks for all the help. big dan

Bernard is a very good gun. ITW owns Bernard and the larger Miller wire feeders come standard with Bernard guns. The 1/4 turn tips were the industry standard for years but if you want you can convert to center fire tips that are held on with threaded nozzles.
