Thanks for the replies, makes sense. I guess that I don't plug and unplug stuff enough that I even give it much thought. I have just always thought of the flat faced QDS for industrial use. From what I have seen, even the BIG AG tractors still use the typical AG style QDs. But maybe that's changing too. :confused3:

The Kubota 3rd function does not come withs QDs. My dealer put a the flat faced QDs on for free, he was working on selling me skid steer blade.

Interesting Top Link holder.:scratchchin:

I knew somebody would say something about that. I had just got the tractor when I took the picture.

I upgraded to a tarp strap.

Now the QH holds it.

Called the Kubota dealer and they tell me that the lines are fitted with -8 JIC. Looking at the site K0ua posted, I cant find any with a JIC fitting on them.

Not sure what you mean. There thousands of the jic fittings on that site. You need a jic fitting to npt fitting
. What *** l dont know as you did not spec the *** of what is on you Kubota. A pix would be worth a lot. Also are they on a bracket now? Do you need 90 degree turn? I really can't find what jic to ntp connector adaptor you need without that pix.

Is the jic female? How is it mounted? Or is it just hanging there ?

The FF coupler number on mine is FEM-502-8FP. If you look up that number that should tell you what it is, I can't right now. I guess they would be the same.

Well I would ask how much came with the tractor and how much does he need to order (except in AG not FF couplers). Does the bracket come with the tractor? did the -8 JIC to 1/2 inch NPT bulkhead adaptor come with the tractor?.. What I need is a picture of his tractor.

Roger are you saying you just added the FEM-502-8FP ? flat face coupler, screwing it on to the 1/2 NPT to 8- JIC bulkhead connector already on the tractor?.. What I am trying to determine is what does the tractor look like when it comes from the factory prepped for the 3rd function?.. If all you have to do is screw on the connectors, then all he needs is a set of AG 1/2 inch quick connectors, one male and 1 female as they will have 1/2 NTP fitting on them. He wont need any bulkhead adaptors JIC to NPT or not have to make a bracket or anything.

I am not sure what all comes with the kit, the dealer put the FF couplers on mine. I am pretty sure I have the instructions for the 3rd function. I can look in a couple of hours and see what the instructions say.

I assumed that there are 1/2 Ag couplers that have the hose end in threaded in either JIC or NPT?? On my tractor the hose ends are male, with caps on them. The hoses are connected to side by side bracket on the front tube of the loader.

I have never seen an Ag connector with JIC fittings. Take a cap off of what ever you have and look at it. It is most likely NPT. 1/2 inch. Please confirm. Please post photo.

I don't know why dealers don't ask the customer what kind of couplers they want on their 3rd function.

Good point, but I expect because there is such a disparity in price between the Flat Face and the AG/Pioneer couplers they don't want to get into asking for more money during the deal? Just a thought. For that matter why not just put AG's on from the Factory, They are pretty cheap, and if the customer wants Flat Face, well then he can unscrew them and put on the Flat Face, or he can make up adapters if he likes.

They could charge accordingly for what the customer wants.

I am not sure if my dealer normally puts couplers on the 3rd function or not. I told him I wanted to see the 3rd function work before it left. He knew I was interested in a snow blade he had so he put that on and the blade had flat faced couplers.

I think it would be bad for them to send them out the door without couplers on it because how could they test it?
