Yes - all four of the 4000 Twentys appear to use the exact same 149 cu. in. (turbo), while the 4510/4610 used 122 cu. in. and the 4710 a 134 cu. in. naturally-aspirated engines.

The 'new' engines are also a little lower-reving. They hit peak torque at 1400 rpm vs. 1700 rpm on the Yanmars, and hit PTO speed (and rating) at 2400 rpm vs. 2600 rpm for the Yanmars.

As I read the article through again, I noticed what looks like a small typo. Here is the original paragraph:

The 4000 Twenty series tractors are fundamentally the same, with different horsepower engines. In fact, the engines are the exact same model, and when you look at the specifications, the only differences will see are in engine horsepower, torque, and PTO horsepower. Otherwise, the tractors are identical.

I bolded the word in question. Is that supposed to be we'll?

On another note, those photos in the article make great wallpaper! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyone notice the auxilliary work lights on some of the loader pictures? They are installed above the tailight/flashers on the ROPS. I'm glad to see a manufacturer recognize that a solid object on the front blocks the standard headlights.

If you're interested, I have them even larger... say, 1280x1024. Pick one or two that you'd like in that size, and I can post them.

Either one would be look great in my garage /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Ooops, WILL they fit - what's the height to the top of the ROPS? I didn't see any numbers in there.

One question, why is the 4 cylinder inferior in the 4710, but, superior in the 4320??

" Besides MissusRR rode a 185Hp water pump this weekend, and now she wants another toy..."

Mike, do you have a place in OK. to use such a splendid flotation pumping device? It looks great. I have a big lake right around the corner from me (2 miles). I have yet to even touch a PWC much less sit on one. Maybe someday I will sit on one and then another day actually make it go. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well, my favorite one is the sideshot of the 4000 Twenty TLB playing in the dirt. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That's a great idea, Andy! I've been thinking about it for some time, too. Maybe we could even do official TBN screensavers? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Does anyone have more detailed specs on the 4000 Twenty like width and the height from the ROPS folded? Also, does anyone have the detailed specs on the 400X loader and 448 hoe? That's one thing I never liked about the JD site. They don't seem to give the most detailed of specs, especially for things like a loader or hoe.

Sorry about my vague answer... Mike aka RockyRidge is a Deere website expert. I thought the same thing as you, but I guess if you do the "build your own", somewhere under the accessories and attachments are the specs for each piece... including the new loader.

I do wish Deere would post the level of documents that Stoneham's eventually puts up but I'd have to say Deere's site already has more info by far available than any other manufacturer bothers to post.

Stoneham's example doc for 4510-4710

Unfortunately the Stoneham's site doesn't yet have any 4000 Twenty docs posted.

In any case re dimensions - I'd bet you'll need a good tape measure to find any difference's between the 4000 Twentys and 4510-4710 CUTs. The whole back end of the tractor chassis is identical (except for the one magic 3-point housing casting part # I ran across! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif), the wheelbase is identical, the wheels/tires are the same, the seat is identical... you get the picture. The ROPS does use a different part number but it must be a very subtle difference. The fenders/deck are new and differ in tiny details but seem essentially the same size.

OK, _RaT_, you caught me. I was ignoring you. See, I don't like you, and really didn't want to tell you... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Actually, I missed your post...

I know this comes as a shock, but OK is pretty much under water. I heard is said that if our longtime Senator Kerr hadn't died, the whole state might be under water... I have heard them say stuff like more shoreline than Kalifornia, or more lakes than Minnesota , as if anybody cared...

From the air it sure looks like a gem field with all the glittering lakes and ponds...

So we get to play on lakes quite a bit But we have too many important things to be getting a SeaDoo, maybe a pontoon boat, though...

Well, I AM slipping.. I missed the specs questions...

Steve is half right. I am NOT a Deere website expert, BUT the specs for loaders and hoes are under the "Build Your Own" Configurator. Click on the Features tab at top. I will try and track down some....

Here is the owner's manual for the 400x Loader

No real specs there! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It may be preliminary...

The backhoe and tractor manuals aren't up, yet

How's <font color="green">'Deere Navigation Wizard' </font> sound? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I went through the 4x10 series and found the tractor spec's but could not locate any FEL spec's. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Go here and click the Tractors and Attachments bullet. Leave it on Build and Accessorize and then click Continue. Then, in the Attachments for Compact Utility Tractors pull down menu choose the loader you want and click Continue. When the page loads click Features at the top right.
