If it weren't for lawyers, no safety devices would be installed on anything.
The people everyone loves to hate... until they need one. :p

I have to deal with lawyers fairly frequently for both business and estate issues. Not all bad people. A good friend actually moved out of engineering, went and got his law degree in our late 30's or early 40's, and now works as a patent attorney.

Considering the number of people reporting the hst pedals sticking (including me), the neutral safety sounds like a good idea. If you're in low, the parking brake isn't going to help.

Disabling safety switches on your own equipment is something that a lot of people think isn't a big deal. Fast forward to when you are gone and a neighbor is asked to move the tractor out of the way so your grandkids can get to something behind it. The neighbor starts the tractor from the ground and it runs over your grandkids...
Not something I really want to consider, and I don't loan my tractors out unless I am there!

Yes, and I need one soon, an elder law attorney.

Thank you for all your reasons to not bypass this, I understand, agree and already know the implications. But my question was, is there a way to bypass this?

Ok then, I get it. Sorry I asked, and again thanks for all the reasons not to.
The hunt continues on my own 🙃

And now that he has been warned on a open internet forum, if something does happen after he disables the safety switch, I can very easily see a good lawyer taking him to the cleaners.
I hope nothing happens! Oh wait, **** happens!

Maybe take the hint….figure it out yourself 😑
Not a very friendly or helpful answer. I think the answer must be, that no one knows how to do it.

When I read about the intrusive safety systems some of the tractors on this forum have, I can understand some wanting to disable them. I leave mine stock, because I have teens in the house, and just don’t want to deal with the liability.

Thankfully, the safety systems on my tractor aren’t too intrusive, Deere did a great job at coming up with a system that doesn’t get in my way. But if others wanted to disable theirs, it’s no skin off my back.

Yes, but no-one is going to commit it in writing, for obvious reasons.

If like some of the “newer” designs it is tied to some circuit board with logic that makes it very difficult to defeat the safeties, others simply jumper some contacts and problem goes away.

I suspect are going to have to find the switch in question and then experiment on what works.

Best wishes on resolving your problem.

I start my tractor from the ground almost every time I get ready to pull it out of it's parking spot. I appreciate that big green N on the dash and the neutral safety switch. Because getting run over by that big ol tractor wheel 1 foot to my right would SUCK!

I know I shouldn't, but can the requirement to have my CK3520HST cab tractor in neutral to start it be bypassed? I really don't like having to put the tractor in neutral to start it, then having get the lever to go into gear. Having the brakes on is enough of a safety requirement for me.
Don't worry, I won't sue anyone that can tell me how to do this.
I’m not familiar with your model, but looking through the owners manual for it, I couldn’t find where putting it in neutral was a starting requirement, only that it’s recommended.
Twice, the manual lists only these two prerequisites. 🤷‍♂️

Neutral safety switch on an HST is total nonsense .
Why's that? Never seen an HST with bad or worn linkage, that doesn't return to neutral? I have!

One I bought 15 years ago would just start driving away on its own, if left idling any amount of time, until I got around to replacing the offending components. :ROFLMAO: That tractor was built in 1963, no safety switches anywhere.

I'm totally with RayIN on this. It's Russian roulette with a tractor. I worked on and around heavy equipment in my career. Yes I know you are so good you never make a mistake. Until you do.... You know you will especially hate it if your wife is who gets hurt or killed. Knowing the safety switch is bypassed and doing everything right every time is two different things. There are a lot of things that are a pain. We always said being safe isn't the easy way, but it's the only way.

Do what you want because it's your tractor. EVERY safety rule book is written in blood. If you run into a tree in your car you will be glad that the air bags function and give you added protection. It wasn't an option to disable unless it's a pickup and you switched the passenger side air bags off.
