Need help with my throttle slipping

I have a TC33D that I can't keep the throttle still, it keeps slipping back to a lower RPM. I have looked under the hood to see if there was something I could tighten up, but I can't even figure out where the throttle wire comes out of the firewall and what it hooks to. I surely don't want to take a part the dash if I don't have to.

Can someone help me figure out how to put a little friction on the throttle cable?

You have to take the 2 plastic pieces off underneath the dash. The two black pieces that are on either side of the lever that controls the tilt of the steering wheel. There are 2 bolts that hold them together. Once you remove these, you will be able to see the bottom of the throttle handle. Tighten the nut and then put a lock nut on the shaft. Alternativley, you could use some thread lock.

Using a search you will find many more detailed answers than mine...

You need to take off the right side of the dash (the part the key switch is in). The throttle level has a friction disk and you just need to tighten it up (pinching the disks). I ended up adding a little lock tight to try to keep it from loosing up.

When I took my cowl off, I found that a couple of the bolts were loose so I'm glad I did the 'repair'.

We used a drop of thread locker like MikePA recommended and haven't had a problem since. Tightening the tensioning nut is fairly easy and shouldn't be a problem for you.
