narrow front to wide front?

How difficult is it to go from a narrow front end to a wide front end. I am looking at an older Farmall. 1951 Farmall H.

Ken,

You are starting to make it impossible to follow you as you keep changing posts. Anyway before I bought the H, I sure would look around at a few junk yards to see if you can even get a wide front end. I know of no kit out there to convert one. But I am sure you can convert by purchasing a wide front from a junk yard. Mayby asking someone in the anitiques posting would help you. The other thing I would be concerned about and again following your post I believe the H will be awfully big or should I say clumsy for what your looking to do. The frame on that tractor was large and the clutch was a pain. I just am not sure you would be happy with it.

Dad used to redtore old Allis Chalmers tractors here we had a friend of our that helped us make new factory looking wide front ends One thing about the H is i thing the pump ran off the trans which made it like and *n when you clutched it you lost power to the hydraulics.

Yes, it was way to big for the mowing that I want to do.
I think I will just start one post in the buying forum and stick to that. Just so many choices.

You can find wide front parts on ytmag.com classifieds. There are wide fronts for H's and M's there frequently.

It is a big tractor for mowing... A Farmall "A" with a 5" belly or pull mower would be good for mowing....

H does not have live hydraulics or pto.

You would need to find a used wide front end, which is often about 1/3 the price of an H to begin with.....
