Newman is correct. He's a little info on it. The company only built tractors for a very few years. Newman Industries Ltd, started building compact tractors in 1948 after the second world war in Grantham Lincolnshire. They were built like several other brands as a cheap tractor for small farms to increase food production and to diversify engineering capacity with the end of war related works. The tractor pictured is a Model AN4 fitted with a 2 cylinder Coventy Victor air cooled engine.

Looks like deere tried a prototype.

That one is actually home made. I have a pic of it in one of my tractor books. It was made out of two john deere 830s, and it is used in tractor pulls. I am not a huge fan of it, mainly because it involved cutting up two of my favourite tractor.
