I was told Real tractors don't have seat switches.:D

Alright: if you want to take beating the safety seat switch to the next level, wire in this mercury tilt switch oriented so that if the tractor tips over, it automatically shuts itself off.

It is one of those things that I planned to do, but forgot to do because I'm too young to make lists and too old to remember everything.

It is pretty darn handy to be able to stand up when your are trying to get your fork tips lined up with a pallet, so you can see them.

You can get an early start. A skill you are going to need later:laughing:

Thats for sure. Nothing like a Towmotor. Those forks are out there!

To run the PTO while not on the tractor! I warm mine up in the winter by running the PTO. There's a hundred other reasons you might want to run the PTO without sitting in the seat. Thankfully they didn't add a safety to the DK series.

On most tractors, if you first flip the seat up and then engage the PTO, it will run. This is used for things like running a wood chipper, where there isn't an operator on the seat. There shouldn't be a need to disable a seat switch for PTO purposes. I can see disabling it for the reason Eric cited though -- that seems maddening.

I have not tried it, but I think the NX series can run the PTO when in neutral with no operator. The issue come up with needing to put the tractor in neutral every time one leave the seat for whatever reason. That gets old.

Especially when the range shift won't budge half the time:mur:

I too have a defunct seat switch:thumbsup:

The M135X that I was hired to operate was finally ready for plowing. For those in the know, no clutches were harmed in the making of this video (see 10:00 mark for the joke).

Eric, I would not like to have to run a big piece of machinery like that in a mall parking lot in winter, too many other idiots to avoid. You're a little braver that me.

There is the tight quarters, but also chasing around from place to place, and then those places can change due to staffing or equipment issues.
