I was told Real tractors don't have seat switches.:D

Alright: if you want to take beating the safety seat switch to the next level, wire in this mercury tilt switch oriented so that if the tractor tips over, it automatically shuts itself off.

Amazon.com : Mercury Tilt Switch : Vehicle Audio Video Accessories And Parts : Car Electronics

It is one of those things that I planned to do, but forgot to do because I'm too young to make lists and too old to remember everything.

It is pretty darn handy to be able to stand up when your are trying to get your fork tips lined up with a pallet, so you can see them.

You can get an early start. A skill you are going to need later:laughing:

Thats for sure. Nothing like a Towmotor. Those forks are out there!

To run the PTO while not on the tractor! I warm mine up in the winter by running the PTO. There's a hundred other reasons you might want to run the PTO without sitting in the seat. Thankfully they didn't add a safety to the DK series.

On most tractors, if you first flip the seat up and then engage the PTO, it will run. This is used for things like running a wood chipper, where there isn't an operator on the seat. There shouldn't be a need to disable a seat switch for PTO purposes. I can see disabling it for the reason Eric cited though -- that seems maddening.

I have not tried it, but I think the NX series can run the PTO when in neutral with no operator. The issue come up with needing to put the tractor in neutral every time one leave the seat for whatever reason. That gets old.

Especially when the range shift won't budge half the time:mur:

I too have a defunct seat switch:thumbsup:

The M135X that I was hired to operate was finally ready for plowing. For those in the know, no clutches were harmed in the making of this video (see 10:00 mark for the joke).

Eric, I would not like to have to run a big piece of machinery like that in a mall parking lot in winter, too many other idiots to avoid. You're a little braver that me.

There is the tight quarters, but also chasing around from place to place, and then those places can change due to staffing or equipment issues.

Hydros change direction faster and wouldn't nail the operator with jerky shifts, but in this size the only thing that is better are the big CVTs, and after watching how it works, Massey's 5610 and its wunder joystick (although the Massey would require getting familiar with it before really making the most of the features). The wheel loader is more efficient than the M135X, but the big Kubota handles its plow much, much better than the smaller M9540 (with the goofed hydro shuttle), and it can drop the wings of the plow for edging (which I did yesterday at two different locations, something the wheel loader pusher plow cannot do).

Normally teams of hand shovelers swarm ahead of us and plow-mounted pickup trucks or skid loaders come in before us doing the detail cleaning, and we show up and push snow. After we're done, a salt truck chases in and salts everything up.

Three young brothers started this business ranging in ages from 35 to 31. Good for them.

My sister and I worked on burning before the warm weather comes. I suspect the DNR will not be issuing burning permits this year due to the lack of snowfall.

I'm glad to learn that other NX owners are striking out on their own and breaking their own stuff, rather than relying solely upon me to break stuff!

All jokes aside, that isn't a bad price for the upper front glass.

What is your set-up for clearing snow?

I use mainly the bucket with a cutting edge for stacking and a 8' and 10' box pusher!! Depending on lot!! I have a 9' Curtis trip edge with wings! On my 09 Dodge Ram dually! I also have several wheel loaders box pushers and buckets & 4 john Deere 310's 1 on each shopping center with 15' box pushers and the bucket for stacking, about 30 independent pick ups with there own machines, skid steers, kubotas, etc,
None of us like using plows on our tractors defeats the purpose of the box and bucket to scoop up and move on!! The trucks , UTV's quads, & skidsteer do well enough

The only damage to my New NX has been the windshield!! The loader handle ripped the cable out do to soft metal, he said they my recall it!! The HST "CAL" problem went away with letting air out of the rear tires????? The range selector was just an adjustment in the handle!! Now it goes smoothly into all 3 ranges?? No codes or stored codes

Paige tractors has many brand parts even for our new NX series there prices are half of the dealer I called them the windshield is $334 & $45 shipping they deal directly with kioti and several other big names!!!
If you need parts check them out!! I will be ordering the windshield through them if my dealer can't lower or match the price! Also they feel they may be able to warrynty the windshield they said it should be tougher then stones?? Lol well see
