Evening everyone!!! Just joined TBN seems like a great site. I just got my new baby last week, a 2009 Kubota 1860 with FEL and 54 MMM. My son is thrilled and hasn't got out of the seat yet!!!!. We added some ROP work lites and a hitch for the cyclone rake. Washed and waxed the day we got it from the dealer. Traded in my JD x485, liked the JD but wanted a FEL and a little heavier machine. Got to run, more info later. Everyone have a good night!!!!

*Traded in my JD x485.
*Big up grade going from a JD x485 Garden tractor to the BX1860.
I have a BX1500 and there is no comparrison to a JD x485.

Good luck and have fun, **I've got over 500 hours on my BX 23 without a problem.
I've got a tad over 1200 hours on my BX23 and it's still goin like new.

Welcome to the Kubota Family and TBN.
You mentioned that you had a cyclone rake...how do you like it? I have been considering getting one for my JD riding lawn mower. What accessories do you recommend?

Afternoon Jim

I have used the cyclone rake for 8 yrs now without a problem. The only issue was that I wore the bag out in the zipper area and the engine developed a small oil leak which was easily fixed. We use the CR all spring, summer and fall especially. Would never be without it, leaf cleanup is a breeze. As for the accesories.... I ordered the pro wheels (dually) and the hose for handheld cleanup. Depending on the size of your property I would go for any of the models, they are basically built the same with larger capacities and engines. I have the Classic model and mow over 1 acre (hills and level) covered with trees.
If you have any other questions, please ask away....

Best of Luck
Tom

Thank You!

I am sure I will enjoy the 'Bota or should I say my son is.... I had cruise on my JD never used it. I did not realize that it was an option on the 1860 when I ordered it. So I stuck the work lite sw there for the time being, could always move it if the feeling strikes me to add cruise. There are way too many toys out there to add to the BX so I will have to choose wisely :D

Congratulations on the new machine!!! Good for you.
In the second photo, you should what? A trailer hitch I assume? It looks very interesting. Can you tell us about it?

As for the cruise, I don't have it either as I don't mow with my 1860 and couldn't use it without having long, boring lines to mow. Trying to think of any other occasion when I would want it, other than a parade? :D

Wow, you must be my brotha' from another motha'. I too moved up to a BX1860, FEL and 54" MMM from a JD X485, and I have a Cyclone Rake too, and I mounted ROPs lights and put the switch in the same place. Weird.

Anyway, love the pic's and enjoy your new tool, that is when your son is not using it.

Thank You.... My son is enjoying it, I think I need to turn over the payment book to him also... I loved the JD but really wanted a FEL and this was the only way to go, imho

Well I can not lie, Chris, your tractor with the rops lites was our inspiration to add them to our bx. My son saw them and said that is the way to go. If I continue to listen to him I may need to take out another loan. I think he has found every bx acc. site known to man.

The sideways picture is of my Cyclone Rake hitch that we made. The day we ordered the tractor we took some measurements of a rental 2350 they had at the place, prefabed it, so we would be ready for the last leaf pick up.

Don't thank me, I stole it from somebody else, just don't remember who. I have not used my CR with the Kubota yet, still hooked up to the wheel horse mostly since my front yard is tight and it would be extra hard maneuvering there with the BX + CR. But, if and when I do put the two together, I'm going to use your approach since it moves the CR much closer to the tractor vs hanging it off the 3PH. That should help with maneuvering it.

I actually had the 45 loader for the X485 but ended up selling the whole set up when I went through "job crises" early last year. Fortunately, that resolved it self for the better and I went sub-cut shopping after that. My experience with the X485 taught me the benefit of 4WD and diesel.

Uh oh ! sounds like me at his age. If thats the case, you better hang on to the wallet and keys. :D

There is not many, but there seem to be quite a few info and toys out there for the BX's.
