Greetings,
I have a 1971 MF 165, I know the MultiPower or Multi-Power depending on what you search for is broken. It will free wheel down hills so I believe it is stuck in low. Is this correct? Before I start playing with the linkage or tearing it apart a little more I'll give you more information so you can hopefully give me the information I need to make the correct decision. When driving it on the road or in the field if you shift from high to low the RPM's increase ( 100 to 150 Rev's) and vice-versa from low to high, but there is no speed increase or decrease. I remember driving this tractor 15 to 20 years ago and when you shifted the Multi-Power on there was a notable speed increase as well as the engine slowing down, but that no longer happens. Any cheap fixes or should I bite the bullet and have a mechanic come fix it?
On another note how much should it cost to have the brakes replaced?
Clutch?
Thanks,
Michael
