I've often wished there was a way we could check a person's advise on tractors by that person's experience. A place, possibly in a member's profile where someone could list things like "20 years a mechanic at a MF dealership'" or "have successfully rebuilt ten Ford diesel engines" would be helpful. This could be done on the signature line but since on one does this, we need a space designated for such information.

My heart shot a little more blood to my brain and I believe you're asking me to try and get YouTube content providers to give their qualifications. That's an excellent suggestion and I hope you and I both get an opportunity to sway them to do that.

It's called 'About You' under My Home >>> Settings >>> Account Details

If you click on my Avatar, then 'About', you'll see 'Look Here'. That's where it would be if people filled it out.

When I tap on My Home I get a dropdown box with a choice of WatchedThreads or Watched Forums.

I've always had content in 'About', to make clear I'm an enthusiastic amateur, and someone who wants to appraise my comments re tractors (or welding, or hydraulics) should consider that.

That 'About' is harder to find, now that TBN runs on the new software.

This forum package really isn't as difficult as it might seem. Sometimes you just have to poke around and click on stuff.

If they haven't entered anything (which most probably have not), you won't see anything there.

I'm slowly catching on. As near as I can tell unless someone lists things he's experienced with under occupation that area doesn't tell much about whether a person is highly qualified to give advise on a particular subject or shooting the breeze like I do sometimes.

I've had similar thoughts about members' 'Occupation'. For example, "Retired cement contractor" would be more helpful than "Retired". Anything would be more helpful than "Retired".

I agree. “Retired” doesn’t tell us much, except maybe that you are getting up there in age.

That yellow bar doesn't point out unread posts nearly as well as bold would.
