Moving Travel Trailer

Howdy,

Picked up an old Jayco 26' travel trailer from a neighbor who was looking to clear it off of his property..

Rolled fine behind my 2500HD Silverado, no issues... my question is, can I move it "safely" on my property (flat) with my BX25 and a 3 point hitch 2 5/16 ball attachment?

The trailer weighs 4096 pounds, bearings are good, so are the tires, and my plan is just to get 'er turned around with the tractor vs. trying to wedge the truck into spaces it doesn't belong, and to use that as the plan going forward.

I'd think that as long as you were on fairly level ground, you could find out without getting into any trouble.

I move my 21' camper about 3800 lbs with my BX2660. It does get a little light on the front w/o a loader on. I do this on level ground only. The biggest problem is trying to have my wife communicate directions as I can't see when backing up.

I'm tempted to take it down the hill to the backyard for the kids but I kinda like my camper, tractor, and my life so I won't.

For me and my B7610, which isn't that much larger, I use one of those 3ph attachments that act as a receiver for you hitch. I put on just a regular 2" BALL and move my 16" trailer with maybe 5 bales of hay or perhaps some railroad ties. Yes, and I move my 29' Airstream with it also.....What I really like is being able to "adjust" my balance of the tongue weight by raising or lowering the 3ph. Really makes a difference when a hill or small slope comes into the works.....God bless......Dennis
