Ok, you guys are making me drool. I'm on my 2nd Milwaukee cordless drill, both are 12v. The old one is 20 and the newer one is maybe 8. Love those tools.

Milwaukee recently released an updated and redesigned version of their standard line (non FUEL) brushed 2620 cordless 18V reciprocating saw...increased speed and performance and vibration balancer. Surprisingly though still a fixed (non adjustable) shoe unlike the FUEL model

Just looking online complete kit...saw, storage case, charger and single battery (2621-21) is about the same price as bare tool FUEL 2720

They definitely have electrical contractors in mind and depending on the job will hold a variety of different items including small tools.

Lock and stack option with multiple cases too.

My business uses a lot of hand held power tools during our installations. My guys have a tendency of abusing tools, and recently switched everything over to Milwaukee as they are very durable and stand up well. Their batteries also seem to hold a longer charge regardless of the task. I swear by this brand.

Can't say about the cordless Milwaukee line but sure consider their corded tools absolutely top notch.
Swear by their 'skill' saw, hole hawg, and long reach stud boring drill setup.
Also to my knowledge still made in USA. One of the few.

I'm glad Milwaukee has satisfied customers... I was one for decades.

Last two experiences... not so much.

One was a battery that would not charge... sent it to Milwaukee for evaluation and they said it had been abused... said I had been underwater??? California has been in a drought for the last 4 years!

The other is a corded drill with light use... now 5 years old. The trigger switch stopped working... Milwaukee said it is obsolete and no longer has a switch to sell...

The last several Milwaukee tools I looked at were made in China...

Unless they changed recently, the battery powered tools are made in China and have been for over 10 years. Mine are still built well though. I don't know of any re-chargable tools made in the US, I looked a few years back.

Ultrarunner, bummer that they didn't warranty the battery, not a good way to keep a customer. As for the trigger switch, look up the model number and find the switch part number. Then Google the number. I found a Sawzall switch (over 20 year old saw) on E-bay this way. Genuine Milwawkee old stock but unused part.

^^^ I was able to find a new switch on E-Bay too...

So far so good... was told the switch I have was a problem so the reason it became obsolete.

The unit cost over $500 with cable and only used it about a dozen times.
