Which FUEL impact wrench are you considering? I have two different 18v ones right now the 2763 and the 2655B. Both are awesome. The 2762 is different yet. Eventually I will add the Fuel 12v. That has two speed settings compared to non FUEL 12v 3/8 impact wrench I have now. Plus there is a 3/8 18v Fuel too...choices choices choices! :D

I'm looking at the 2763-20. How do you like it? Battery runtimes?

I like it fine, very powerful and with a 4.0 battery runs a long time. Any of the impact models seem to outperform drills in that respect.

So its pretty much the model that comes recommended for general automotive work with the hog ring anvil for easier socket changes. And is rated at a slightly higher breakout torque than the 2762. Understand though that the #1 position is very low speed/low torque #100 lbs max but that is perfect for running on lug nuts and other smaller bolts after they have been thread started.

On the 2762 mode #1 makes 350 ft lbs max
WorkshopAddict did a review on that one the pin detent model so need to depress the pin with something to remove the socket. Some say if you attach an impact socket turned so the pin doesn't engage the hole it comes right off don't know and don't care to find out especially if gets stuck!

Any of the 2760's are definitely big and heavy compared to either a 2654/2655 which are both about the same size as the 2653 impact driver you said you have bought.

My only desire would be for 3 torque modes instead of just two. A 350ftlb setting in between would be ideal...guess we cant have it all unless you buy them all

Just as an FYI for anyone looking at these impact tools each FUEL model has a different range of torque settings sometimes you don't always see them all listed in the advertisement's but just the max torque. You can find them all at the Milwaukee site though.

I stopped in at a large local tool supply today and ended up getting an awesome deal on a M18 2763-22 kit with two 4.0 batteries, charger and case on special $100 off. I got it for $329.00

Great deal...that's like getting one 4.0 battery for free!

I purchased both the 2763 and a 2781 FUEL grinder as bare tools. That bare tool grinder comes with 2 guards, handle and wrench.

I found this 13x8 Craftsman soft tool bag keep the 2763 impact wrench and battery always ready for the road with me, and the M18 floodlight and a charger fit perfect in this heavy duty Milwaukee Contractor Bag I got on Amazon

The hard cases the Milwaukee tool kits come in are definitely nice and I have a few of them, but I really like soft bags when I take my stuff out to the job. I have my M12 radio along with the stick light in the 13" Milwaukee bag that came with the M12hackzall. Now that saw is tossed in a big 17" Milwaukee bag I have along with drill, impacts, and other accessories when I haul it all to work.

I'd like a second 13" soft bag now because that size also fits the grinder and accessories perfect. :D

I was watching this M12 cordless palm nailer video today...impressive little tool!

The batteries were going for $129.99, but they're running a special on individually packaged 4.0 batteries for $69.99.

I have to say that its pretty disappointing Milwaukee did not see a way to retrofit the latest M18 battery design to V18 tools being that other manufacturers are doing it now. But that what sells more tools I guess. I looked on Amazon didn't see any knockoff batteries either. Buying $100 old technology batteries hard to justify. New OEM batteries for my NiMH Makita are not much cheaper but there are knockoffs to be had on them.

I you do go new (and with Milwaukee again) they have also just replaced their standard brushed drills and impact drivers with brushless technology so its not just the FUEL models anymore. A less expensive option.

I recently added a brushed M18 hammer drill to my tools because they were moving them out and the price was $60 off list. It came with the compact batteries but I didn't mind because I already had some 4.0XC and wanted a couple of lighter batteries anyhow. But getting the largest XC's is the way to go if you don't have any batteries. Run time is amazing.

Best M18 deal IMO is the Fuel 2797-22 combo and its still advertised with a free 4.0 xc battery or recip saw at the HD online

The V28 and M28 batteries are interchangeable. I love my M28 sawzall!

I saved my self a lot of headache at the flea mkt last summer when I came across a Milwaukee 6 1/2 cordless circular saw never used and up for sale for less the half price of a new bare tool. All the seller could tell me was it was 18volt and came in a kit he had purchased and the drill was gone now.

I wasn't quite sure what I looking at and of course didn't have a battery with me but one call to Milwaukee toll free customer service number even on a weekend set me straight. Turned out it was the older style 0830 saw and wasn't compatible with the M18 tools and batteries I had just started to invest in
