Hello, All

I posted this problem in the Hydraulics section, but it might be better brand specific.

I recently replaced the spool valve (bent spools) for my 1060 FEL. I don't seem to have any hydraulics at all. Only remotes and power steering. I also hav a 3pt backhoe and the two hoses for it also attach to the spool valve. I've tried these hoses in every configuration. The valve assembly is full of fluid whenever I remove a hose. If I move the joystick for the FEL the FEL will move, but only with gravity's help. I really don't know anything about hydraulics, but the basic principle.

Any suggestions would help.

thanks for reading.

Assuming everthing worked before the spool valve was replaced, I would say maybe the supply & return lines aren't hooked up correctly. Where does your loader get powered from? Those tractors generally fed the loaders from the remotes so if those are working you should be getting some kind of action. I would double check your connections.

G'day don't know about your model specifically but some massey's have a diverter valve to steal oil from the TPL to supply remote functions could yours have been moved ?

thanks for the replies

I also thought my hoses were in the wrong places so I've switched the three of them around a few times and can't seem to get it right or there's another problem. I have pressure coming from the remotes, which is what leads me to believe I have the hoses wrong. I know the loader quick connects are correct as I had labeled them in the past. All I have to indicate valve ports are the "T2" and "P2" + the A,B,1,2.

As far as a switch to divert oil...the only one I know of is to cut off three point lift for higher pressure to aux. It is in the correct position.

*EDIT* This evening I cracked the hoses at the FEL cylinders and moved the joystick. I'm getting an increased flow when I move the joystick to the corresponding position. Doesn't seem like enough, but there is a decent flow.

T=Tank/ Return, P= Pressure/ Feed. Are your lines coming from the remote stack? If so, the line on the right side, standing behind the tractor, is your feed/ pressure line. If you have 3 lines one will be a power beyond, Should have an adapter piece screwed into the valve, this will feed your PTO maybe, I think? I can't remember what it feeds off the top of my head. The other will be a return to sump, (T). The power beyon & return will be on the same side of the valve.

From what you have described, I seem to have the hoses in the correct places. Both hoses, return and power beyond, go to the same "T" at the left side of the remotes. They are in the same line as return for the remotes which goes directly to the transmission on the right side just in front of the axle.

The supply side comes from the right hand side of the remotes, just as you described.

Have you checked the hydraulic pressure? Was all working before the valve change?

Well, now I feel stupid (as I figured would be the case). The issue turned out to be what I thought was a plug. It goes in the front end of the valve and has some extension that I assume plugs flow farther inside the valve. The one that came with the new valve just looks the same on the outside.

Thanks for your help. If not, I would still be thinking I had another kind of issue. I think I scratched my head so much I've thinned my hair. It felt great to finally get it running. Unloaded some hay with it today, runs like a champ.

Out of curiosity, do you have any pics on the forums with your tracks mounted. We don't see any of that down here.

Glad you're running again.
I guess I had better change that picture. The pircture is on I found on line a few years age. I was in awe myself, that's why I saved it. It's just a neat setup. So as much as I wish I had one it's not mine.
