My dealer confirmed that all L models share a single key and all Zero turn (ZD/ZG) mowers share a single key. Possibly true for other models as well.

Most of the B-series (except the B26) use the same key.

We had our key copied at a local locksmith. Was it more expensive than the dealer? Don't know because the closest dealer is 30 or so miles away.

Our local dealer charged me $2.50 for a pair of replacements and key chains. Fortunately, we found the missing key in my shirt chest pocket (doh)!! :ashamed: I guess my only defense is that I was wearing 2 jackets since it was cold.

Before I had a chance to buy the replacements, I used my neighbor's key for her B2400 to start my L5740. I wouldn't have known to try someone else's key if a thread on TBN hadn't given me the idea that many keys are the same.

My G2160 and BX2230 share the same key and so does some of the RTV 900s, the newer B series have a different key than the old Bs and the real old ones use another. most the Ls are the same. The RTV-1100 ignition and cab keys come from the M series and also the cab keys are the exact same one that is used on most RV compartment doors(CH751). Now I have noticed some of the upper end Kubota blank keys used on othe heavy equipment but the tumbler pin profile is different so that is why some can be cut and do not use just a stamped key. Indak keys are used on around half the lawn mowers with the rest usually being a Delta ignition switch. Arnold makes a universal key that fits most lawn mowers and older tractors such as a massey. Go to ebay and look at the key collections being sold to heavy equipment movers and mechanics.
Hope this makes it simple.

Since I have 8 of the same keys I can maybe loan one or two out. I got two keys with each Kubota so F2680E( about 3 years old), BX25, F2880 and RTV1140 (less than a year old) all use the same key. Small keys.
Don't remember for sure but think and almost positive my B's and L used bigger keys.

The OP posted he ordered the keys he needs. Keys for most tractors and equipment can also be ordered on Ebay for anyone interested.

I had spare keys made at key maker.

Once at a relative's place I needed to use the FEL of a B-something Kubota to hoist an Axis deer for cleaning. Used my L5030 key...worked like a charm.

Nothing like the feeling of getting access to hydraulic lift power when it appeared that there would be none:thumbsup:

I wanted a spare key when I had my B8200. It was at the shop getting the loader install. This was a local independent shop. The owner started my Kubota with a John Deere key. He indicated there is a lot of commonality of keys across model lines, AND manufacturers.

Based on his input, if you depend on your key as a security device, it aint.

I sold my B8200 before I got my NH TC40; I did not have a chance to see if the keys interchanged.

I think there is more than 3. My B21 and B2701 have different keys. My old M4700 (traded), M5040, and M9540 have different keys. Maybe there are a half dozen keys across the line in the past decade. But yes, they are common keys and that's standard for the industry.

I've ended up with a few extra keys from the dealer, free of charge.
