Lost coolant

I have a new Kubota B 23 HP tractor with bucket that I bought around the 4th of July. I have about 9 hours on it. This weekend I was using it to move boat trailers around and noticed it was leaking something. Also the coolant gage indicated the engine was hot. Further investigation showed that a hose with a spring clamp had come off a plastic fitting on lower left side of the engine compartment and dumped all the coolant. The tractor was not under much load but I am concerned that the engine ran without coolant. Any thoughts from anyone?

I had a similar experience with Cub Cadet. At about 20 hours the radiator hose fell off the lower connection. The thing overheated so badly that the ignition would not kill the motor .. knocking, black smoke. The thing was loaded, so it took a bit to unplug connections to force it to shut off.

Cub Cadet basically said SCR.. YOU, gave me a fill of coolant and smoked a cigarette as I walked away feeling used. I hope your Kubota experience is not such a one-sided love affair - if you get my meaning

The good news; The Kohler engine on the cadet is running fine - for now. I'm not sure of the long-term consequence but such is life.
