Looking for a multitasking utility trailer

I was under the impression that these military trailers have a built-in dump feature achieved by setting the wheel brakes and then backing up to tilt the bed and dumping the load.

They do but it doesn’t work very good.

I see what you're saying. The third link, above, addresses the issue.

I was looking at Extreme trailers and found a dealer in-state but then an off road trailer came up on craigslist and I bought that instead.

Using the FEL to tilt or dump the military trailer works for us. Don’t think a regular trailer with ball hitch would survive long.

Having brakes on a off road trailer or farm trailer just makes sense. Can move to a pile of compost, mulch, or firewood, set the brakes and disconnect. Use the FEL to load. Reconnect and go. No chocking required. Can move lot of materials fast. Use the trailer brake to lock a wheel to skid a trailer tire when negotiating slope terrain. Pushing the trailer down hill instead of just relying on the tractor brakes to hold back.
Having the trailer out front helps getting in/out of tight places.

The wheels maybe the same bolt size as my truck for a spare?? Never tried. Like the larger tires for the farm.

Had to study some to get a model that had the surge brakes, mechanical brakes, side boards and swing down crank jack stand options I wanted. Added armored led taillights to withstand farm, woods and dumping use.

After a lot of looking and thinking I have (I think) decided that I will build my own trailer. Probably on a harbor freight 1720# frame, as suggested by @Diggin It . In the end I will end up with what I really want. Been doing a lot of youtubing to see what other's have done with these

Seriously the dump feature was a "would be nice to have but I can live without". And this trailer could be disconnected and just tilted back to get the effect I was looking for.... that is after I put the license plate in a place that won't get in the way of doing that.

I'm not overly concerned about keeping it at or under 45MPH, it will see very little highway use and if it does people can just go around me. That's what I'm doing now with the one I can borrow because it actually scares me a little just towing it.
