I have a Longevity helmet that the head gear has broken on. I tried to find headgear that was compatible with the helmet locally and have failed.
I contacted Longevity and they do not have/sell replacement head gear for their helmets.
They did offer to sell me a new helmet however. My helmet works fine just the headgear is broken.

Using duct tape at the moment which does not let the helmet rotate very well.

Finding protective plastic lenses for the helmet have been a problem as they sell them for about $20 apiece so I have been cutting Hobart outsize lenses down to fit so the head gear issue is not really that new except that they do not have it even at very expensive prices.

Other than taking a Dremel and knife to the helmet to modify it to fit other headgear does anyone have a suggestion?

Honestly, if it broke once it's likely to break again, those helmets are not expensive. IMO I'd really recommend buying a new Miller/Hobart/Lincoln/etc. name brand helmet.

How do you like your 4720 btw? I am looking at a 4710 with a 400X to replace my Kubota.

Furu,

Give us a call. I may have some damaged helmets laying around that i can pull some head gear for you from. We do sell the lens covers, but for the new line of welding helmets we have coming, we will be having head gear and other parts as well.

I will call/try again but the last time I called your folks checked and did not have anything to salvage as far a head gear is concerned.
