Thank you. Very interesting site. I visited it years ago and forgot about it.
Rough calculation based on 8" dia at small end and 18" dia at large end with 27' of length equates to over 2000lbs. Even at half that weight it is impressive.

We are actually experiencing summer. The weather was about 73 Fahrenheit with a cool breeze off the water. It was very comfortable to work in. And any time I was in the tractor the AC was on.

Evening was wonderful - stayed around 65 Fahrenheit. Of course the fire helped a bit and the wives didn't complain too much.

You can also go to the forestyforum they have a log weight calculator. I use the straight logs for lumber and the "junk" for fire wood, burns great.
