Well I removed the custom storage box/quad flashing LED lights off the 4240 just before I traded it and intended on installing it on the 5740 but wouldn't you you know it. The box wouldn't fit the new tractor so rather than chop it up to make it work I went a different route and started a new designed one. I fabricated a place to hang a few shackles and still made a place to put the two quad flashing LED lights.

It's all made out of 1/8th plate and very tough. It can also be used for a step if need be. You'll also notice I used multiple benders to get the correct bends. There are many more steps involved but this will give you an idea how It was fabricated.

I'm calling this Phase #1 because the next Phase will involve some sort of storage box. I used all the existing holes that were in the front guard and basically designed this unit as a plug'in play unit. Here's a few photo's of how it went. The first photo shows the box that I made last winter.

Very nice work, but from you we would expect nothing less. I see that you kept the modified bucket as well, or you kept the whole loader and had the dealer transfer that?

More excellent work that looks like it belongs on the rig.

Thanks buddy. I was kind if hoping it would blend in with the machine and I think it did. Appreciate your comments.

Thank you very much. I let the new bucket go with the 4240. I didn't see any point doing the same thing with the new bucket when the old bucket had no hours on it. The snow blade is on the tractor 95% of the time and I really liked the spill guard I put on the bucket.
Ya I went with the new FEL, new 3rd function set up and rear weights. The guys at the dealer are great to deal with and really took care of that stuff. I guess that's why I keep going back :) Thanks again for your kind words and your post.

You are nuts!!! Completely bonkers!!!

(But in a very, VERY good way.)

Everything I've seen you do is craftsmanship at its finest. The world would be a better place if everyone had the pride and care that you demonstrate in your projects.

You signature "...Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude..." tells it all.

That looks like a factroy option, very nice work.

Looks great. Those bends are perfect. Do you have a specific use for the shackles or are they a just in case kind of thing?

Thank you sir. Glad you like it.

Thanks. Last year someone stopped my and asked if I could pull them out of the ditch. Had the sling but no shackle so as I was building this thing I decided to add the shackle holder. It's a "just in Case" sort of thing.

OK, so here's what I'm thinking......
You just about got this Kubota stuff figured out and you need a new challenge. Besides you got to be tired of painting everything orange....or at least you are running out of orange paint.

I believe it's time for a road trip for you down to Texas. I have this LG tractor that is just dying to be pimped out. And besides, it's blue so you won't have to worry about all that orange paint.:D

Seriously though, you've done another OUTSTANDING JOB on the mod for this new tractor. Your creativity and skill is truly amazing. I really enjoy your posts.

The Edwards iron worker was surely a great tool purchase to compliment your skill. Where are the oblong holes though?

Cheers.
Glenn.

Oh man I almost jumped at the idea of coming down until you mentioned the word "Blue". I'm after using a lot of blue paint as well so the challenge is gone

Ya the Edwards sure has helped me out in the shop. The oblongs have come in handy. One guy asked me how I drilled them and I told him I use an oblong drill bit :D

Thank you my friend for your kind words. It's nice to see you on here and always a please to chat with you. Cheers. Paul

I have a friend who happens to be a graphic designer do them for me and then they are set out to a sign company to be printed. They are treated for UV as well and will not fade. They don't come cheap but they last.

Somehow I'll bet he's already got one or two or more in there.

Well mjncad would know that as of two days ago the shop and the surrounding area has been fitted with cameras. Hey I could provide live feed of the shop :anyone:

I didn't want to spoil your surprise by announcing your latest home and shop improvement.

Paul:

You've probably already done this but incase you haven't, it's a good idea to put up signs asking everyone to smile. Our's read "Smile we want to photo your best side".

Our next door neighbour was a Calgary city policeman and he said that cameras were without a doubt the best deterrent for crime.

Cheers.
Glenn.
