Looks like a nice unit, can't wait for your review and some action photos. I really like the 3" capacity idea.

On another note the Alamo is looking great! Nice combo!

Finding a good, used, name brand flail locally is almost impossible and never cheap, close to what I'm paying for new. I have no doubt I will sell my still functional, but a bit beat up 6yo, 68" Value Leader at a price I'm happy with and fair to the buyer. Of course my extra knives will fit the new model

As I've posted before, I used, somewhat abused, my current flail and it has given me excellent service. To me, it makes sense to upgrade to a bit larger model while current unit can perform for a new owner. I won't be as abusive to the new one

Near Denver I've been actively looking on Criagslist for well over a year, probably 2. I've seen about 5 hits that were actually flail mowers, but none were even close to appropriate for use behind a SCUT or CUT. I lucked out getting my 7' 719 before I knew what it was, much about flails in general or why they were so much nicer than a rotary. Still can't believe the guy was only asking $100 for it. I have sense put about $500 into it & several weekends of work on rehab.

Ordered mine today. Not as big as yours but all I could afford. Freight was an extra $277 as well.

Alien, that mower looks fantastic. Last time I checked AU to USD convertion was something like 0.75, is is still the same 1500.00 US shipped is a steal, nice! I happen to have several friends in AU on a different forum...I am still learning the AU lingo you blokes speak,

Yeah our dollar is worth nothing at present and the way the salesman spoke was "they are still that price at the moment" which leads me to believe there will be an adjustment again shortly.
Only 18 months ago things were great value, our dollar never looked better but the darn manipulators can't keep their hands off it.
I bought a US$29 item a couple of days ago and it cost me over Au$44 through Paypal and I needed 2 of them. That hurt. And they are talking about adding GST Tax on internet items as well by 15% as we don't pay GST on small internet stuff yet. Our $ is swinging around 71c US but not strong at all.
Never ends...
Hoochy, what other forum are you referring to? Wouldn't mind checking it out...

Thanks mate, I'll have a gecko at that. I used to make my own years ago. Bl**dy hot for a visit now. I fly Model aircraft and it is too hot in the day for that too.

Dave, with the Chinese manufacture bugging me I am wondering how the nuts and bolts, bearings and belts have held up on your 6 year old machine. The price is attractive if the quality will allow one to work with the machine instead of on it.

Well, managed to lose my detailed response

Still original belts, still in great shape.
Replaced the two rear roller bearings a couple years ago, only one went bad. No zerk for lube.
Last year replaced the bearing on shaft from gear box. My fault as I hadn't checked the lube in a while.
Main shaft bearings tight and true, couple shots of grease and broken hammers/blades replaced ASAP.
All originals bolts and nuts.
3rd set of blades. I used the first set of hammers as ground engaging to even out wild pig rooting.

Betsco has been great support. Reason I bought from them again.
