My old original headlights were way past their best. Just about still functioning but corrosion in the lamps themselves and the wiring meant they weren't much good for anything other than a bit of mood lighting in the garage.
New original headlights are still available for the F14, but they are quite expensive and I'd still be stuck with the feeble 25w incandescent bulbs. So I got some of these cheap 18w led work lights off eBay. ｣25 delivered. I was limited for choice because I wanted something that would fit in the original headlight apertures, these are slightly smaller than the original headlamps.
I didn't want to drill any new holes in the tractor so I made some adapter brackets out of scrap to allow me to use the original headlight mounting holes.
I needed new connectors too as I couldn't clean the crud and corrosion out of the original ones. By coincidence the ones I ordered were nearly identical to the original Yanmar ones.
A few hours sawing, drilling, tapping and painting and we have this.
Very pleased with the result. Much brighter than what was there before. Only time will tell if they can live with all the vibes coming from the little diesel though. It's worth pointing out I don't drive on the public road so don't need to worry about dazzle etc.
Next job is two similar lamps on the rear somewhere.
