Land leveling

/ Land leveling #21
I would disk or till the land first then use a land plane grader blade to smooth it out. You can run a land plane across it first to see if it will smooth enough to suit you but in order to plant the lawn it is better to have the dirt worked up any way. I use the land planes and a tiller for most of the lawns I develop for my customers. I built my land planes for this purpose and smoothed out my lawn with it. I also built the spike tooth harrow for smoothing and covering seed.

Forget the box blade. Get a neighbor to plow it - the bigger the better, then disk and harrow like jenkinsph says above. I'm talking a 6 bottom plow here. Let is sit a while then rent or hire a land leveler if available. Your other choice is hire someone to come in with a motor grader that has automatics they can set for level. If it has the rippers too, even better. Once they are done you can com in with a good heavy tiller that has the option of setting the rear deck to apply pressure and level. My Terra Force YJR074 will do that
