Kubota HD 72" round back bucket

This is an interesting thread. I was just talking to my dealer about the M buckets. From my experience with my L, I thought there was an optional HD bucket for the M's. He said there is only one available, the M1811 and it was a round back HD bucket... In all my searching this seems to be true.

I don't like the top lip on the M1811 and wish it had the pipe style like the L's HD bucket.

I'm planning on doing some reinforcing once I take delivery....

Yeah, I would love to know the difference between our M1811 and the HD Round Back L buckets.

TripleR -- I think he has both. He has a M8540 with a bucket like mine (I think) and an L/GrandL with the HD round back (I think). I'm pretty sure he said his HD bucket on the L is beefier. Funny the HD round back was not an option on the Build Your Own site.

I had to go to the Build Your Own function to make sure, but it doesn't appear that the M8540 has a HD bucket as an option. We are going to reinforce ours with round stock at the top or angle iron. We may put a bottom plate or tooth bar on also.

Im gonna go ahead and get the HD bucket for my L, unfortunatly they have to order one but they are giving me a loaner bucket till mine comes in. I will be sure to get pics when it dose come in.

The M8540 is not flimsy, it just lacks the reinforcement at the top and doesn't have the bolt on bottom edge. I have not measured the bucket wall thickness.

Thanks man! Yeah I was surprized as well when they were like we have a loaner bucket you can use till yours comes in, I think they are more excited to see the HD bucket than me!:laughing: They are REALLY COOL guys there and the fact they are 10 mins from my house really makes me feel good about my decision to buy from them and move to a Kubota tractor and Im getting a hand made quilt along with the deal thats made by one of the salesmans wives!:thumbsup:
I also talked to Brady at Barlows and he said your local Kubtoa dealer is giving you a really good deal!

IIRC Brady's price was alittle cheaper but by the time he got it to me it would still be abit cheaper but said that my loacal dealer was really giving me a good deal! Heck when I left there today they gave me $45 worth of Husqvarna gloves and when the summer hats come in ill have a few of them waiting for me (plus I already got the quilt). Forgot to mention that they threw in the CD player for nothing as well!!!!!:thumbsup:
I feel really good about the deal I got from them and for them to give me a loaner bucket (M1811 bucket) was really nice of them cause my wife said we are gonna get some snow but I dont think its much.

I have one of those buckets, it came on my L4350. At present it has a Rezloh ($900) edge on it and has sat on a skid for almost 10 years. Ever since I developed my Loader Buddy I have not used it. It holds a lot but is not for me, any takers?

Loved the pictures especially the last one, my youngest grandson is absolutely fascinated with tractors and will watch AG shows with me; loves to drive around the lots looking at tractors.

Good move. I have a 60" HD Roundback on my L4200. It is virtually indestructible, MUCH unlike the single-walled buckets.

I just picked up a L2236 72” bucket for $650 that none of the paint it stickers are worn off of it.

Was that a good deal?

My 6’ NH bucket was cracked and broke when I bought last year.

Something must be very different to account for the weight difference.

Kubota's HD excavation bucket has a double sheet bottom plus wear strips on the underside. That is the weight difference. I have one as well as the light duty bucket.
