The seperate reservoir would need to be part of the BH I would think. Seperate reservoir, seperate filter, seems like a good idea. I would still keep an eye on temps or even a feel on the reservoir every now and then for comfort.
Come to think of it I have seen those boom mounted hydraulic brush cutters for roadside clearing have some sort of large tank that I always thought was a counterweight but may be the hyd fluid res. Those cutters use pto hydros maybe.
