Looks like a really nice winch. I wished I would have seen it when I was looking to purchase one. I agree with North to Alaska, it would be great to hear a one year review.

Hello.
I'm from Slovenia and i must say, what did you decide, is good. We have 3 big producer for forestry winch in Slovenia:
https://www.tajfun.si/vitli/index.html (on the bottom of the side you have to choose English)

All of them have almost the same construction and if you will not take more than 100m3 out from forest, i'm almost sure, the lifetime of all whiches will take more than 30 years. Maybe the clutch and seil... But that is consumables.

So, I wish you a good work with. :)

Best regards

I have owned a Krpan 4.5 eh winch for 3 winters.
The combination of wireless remote and hydraulic outfeed are a real benefit.I am 74 and w/o these 2 features my time in the woods would not be as enjoyable.
I process about 10 cord annually from tree to stacked and burned.
Very good product.I bought mine from Brad Charby at Picken's equipment in Waterloo,QC.

ok ready to do a review after more then a year!

overall good quality for the price. It was the least expensive but still very robust and it do the job for occasional use like mine.

The only complaint will be the manual operation (cord with pulley), it is often very hard to remove or engage the neutral. I like the very long high quality cable. Very useful, when you need to reach a tree far away and unaccessible. Also all accessoy or pin is present including a chain saw older, Towing coupling, lot of chain holder and mine was come with two chain from Picken’s in Waterloo, Qc.

Overall difficult to beat quality/price ratio, if I have to buy it again, I will choose the same, but may also spend more for the 4.5eh with remote operation and easier hydraulic operator.

I may as well give MY review as well.
I ended up purchasing the 3.5 as well from Picken’s in Canada. It’s the only dealer for North America so not much choice.
Good dealer to work with except for shipping to Alaska. More a problem of US customs not recognizing my address.

I could only find one tractor winch dealer (if another brand) here in Alaska. Price for this Kpan, with shipping, was about $1,000 less than what was available here.

More than strong enough for my 4520r Branson.

My tractor will stall if the log catches on a stump and I don’t release the clutch in time.
Got rain on it just before freeezing up for the winter. Had to use a heat gun to thaw out a few things and brought the ropes inside to thaw and dry otherwise it would not work. Sure that would be a problem for any winch.
Chainsaw scabbard is great. “Tool box” is somewhat functional but afraid things will just fall out. Lots of hooks for the chains.
Picken’s did not send a manual with so had to call for one.

If I think of anything else will let you know.

Looking at these. Wondering if 3.5 too big for my Bobcat CT2025. Best price I've found so far.

I'd really like the Farmi W30R as it scales better with my tractor, but have learned those will be unobtainium until late summer. Any thoughts?
