Kioti or Kubota

Well if it is not made in America does it matter where it is made? From all the debate it seems the Kioti is as stout a tractor as any currently made. Plenty of threads here from happy and unhappy owners of every brands. Some have mechanical failures, some only have to maintain or tweak minor glitches. South Korean soldiers joined the US on the battlefield of Iraq, that upgraded my respect of their country. Not that it matters any I suppose. I won't buy a Korean car as long as there are American plants cranking out what I want. Too bad the Americans companies pulled out of this market.

Two of Hyundai's most popular models, the Sonata and Santa Fe, are built in Alabama. Go figure.

And so rises the industrial south! Today, some Hyundai's, Hondas, and Toyotas are just as American (maybe more so) than are GM's, Fords or Chryslers.

Unfortunately, hard to find the American tractor. Maybe we should all just trade for a powertrac!:D

Well, for years smaller john deeres were made by japan[wonder where now?],kubota of course japan,do these people who bought and still have these tractors for years, think they were buying american?

Where are fords new holland made, bet its not and has been not America.

So,now we got something against korean tractors?[south korean tractors that is,our friend since they was a south korea].

We got something against chinese tractors?Other than china being a semi communist country, why would I have anything against buying a chinese tractor,[other than questionable quality].Or a russian one for that matter.

If you got money to burn, you go buy what you want,if you got a budget, you try and get the best you can for your money, thats why I bought a kioti, what country it came from, played a part too in that, korea, like japan and germany,is known for quality products.
Other than more dealers, deere and kubota have nothing on smaller/mid size tractors, over kioti. Maybe, deere don't have as much as kioti now adays.:D

I completely agree. I'm waiting to jump all over someone who claims that the brand tractor they own is a brand that has never had any issues. LOL As we all know, tractors are not made in heaven by God and Angels, but by mere mortals. They all are susceptible to an occasional break down in some form. I think it's reasonable to expect as much from absolutely any brand.

I bought a Korean car. It was made in Westpoint, GA. According to the window sticker, 42% of the components came from Korea and 58% of the components came from either the U.S. or Canada. As others have said, it's probably more "American made" than what you're driving!

As far as I can tell these are urban legends. I've never seen proof that Kioti made parts for Kubota. As far as I can tell no Kioti is a clone of a Kubota either.
Hey IT,
When we went to Korea the head honcho at our foundry told us that about 10% of our production goes to Kubota. He would not elaborate. They also make industrial diesel blocks for Hyundai heavy equipment, hyundai and kia transmission cases and much more. From what I could see and I think Rick W would agree it is a very high quality foundry.

Hi Don,
Daedong is the Koreaen distributor for JD tractors in Korea. When we went to the headquarters there was about 50-60 Large JD tractors down in the other yard. Daedongs explanation is they only build to a certain HP and have customers that need larger equipment.

Again, maybe you speak Korean, but I don't. Based on web searches, Kukje's equipment manufacturing plant, not furniture making plant, is based in Soul, Korea. Daedong is listed as being in Daegu, Korea. A quick search shows that these are two different cities. Must be one heck of an assembly line!

Copying and pasting the Korean from Kukje's site on a translator page seems to indicate that the JD products made there are sold in Asia and some in Europe. I saw no mention of products sent to the U.S. Besides, you clearly seem to have a wrong impression. Unless you've purchased a totally loaded DK90, I've spent more money on a Korean made product than you have on a Korean tractor. If I thought Korean = junk, do you think I would have done that?
Hey Dargo,
You are correct Daedong has facilities in daegue and Jin ju as well as other surrounding areas where shipping is convenient,(spelling sucks) but their headquarters is in Soule, So Korea. They have had business relationships with Kubota and John Deere.
