I just received a quote for aNew 2019 Kioti CK3510SE with a 4030 loader, KB2475L 18 INCH Back hoe,RC2060 brush hog,BB2060 box scraper Total price $36,412 this seems overpriced. There are not that many Kioti dealers near me so not able to shop around that much. What does everybody think of the price? Any suggestions? Thanks, Wayne

I’m in western Pa. Can’t help with the package price, but can tell you I paid $20,835 for the tractor and loader in May. I’m assuming the tractor your were quoted is ROPS, not cab.

Hi Wayne,

I will take a run at this...................lets take 21000 then judging from jcbGM so dont need to add the loader - backhoe im gonna say 7.5K - brush hog ehhh 1500 - box scraper 800

so that adds up to about 28500 + 1500 + 800 or 30,800 + 1500 for my lack of knowledge that would put at about 32300 - surely im not 4K off on the stuff? It sounds high to me.

I bought nearly the exact same package around this time last year. My box blade was a different brand, and I got a couple extras thrown in (filled tires, bucket hooks, delivery). I pad 30k cash. If you're financing, your price is gonna be a couple thousand higher, but your quote sounds high to me. Maybe they're not offering as good incentives as last year? I'd shop around some more if you can.

I forgot to mention that I took cash, not low rate finance. That’s a couple grand.

Is this for a hydrostatic or gear transmission? Cab or open station?

SGT3694, welcome to the forum! If you'll add your location to your profile, it may help with responses. There can be fairly large variations in price point based on location. E.g., Upstate NY vs. Virginia.

I note that you were quoted for a 5' box blade for that tractor. It will nicely handle a 6' box blade and a 7' rear blade. Be sure to ask the dealer to fill the rear tires for more weight.

Yes, That’s where I received my quote. Have you had any dealings with Afton? Are they fair and are there prices fair? I’m really not sure this is the first tractor I’m buying myself. I researched so much I’m starting to get overwhelmed. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hmmm, that's where I bought mine last year. Is your quote for a cab or open station? I had assumed open station based on your first post.

Obviously I've had no reason to keep up with pricing this year, but seems crazy to me that it would be that much more than a year ago, for basically the exact same package of equipment. I was happy buying from them last year, I thought my price was very fair at the time. They did goof and give me the wrong filters when I did my 50hr service, but they made it right, and tossed in a couple extras when I went back to get the right ones. I haven't dealt with them that much though, my machine has been trouble free. I bought from them after shopping all over central NY, because I liked the small town, family business aspect. Many other brands and dealers I shopped around at, didn't even want to take 5 minutes to talk to me.

I did just check the cash back incentives on the Kioti page....it's definitely less than last year, but only by about 1,000 bucks.

Thank You so much. It was suppose to be for no cab. I’m going there this week to sit down and get every detail and price. Maybe he just gave me a MSRP Quote. At least I hope. I really did not want to go over $35,000 but if it means to get a much better package I will do it. I just want a fair deal. I really hate buying new cars so I’m always on defense with this type of purchase. I don’t know if its like buying a new car and you haggle with them or is it one price and that’s it? Thank you for the info.

Some more thoughts. Don't be put off by the idea of buying new. That makes things much easier, since it's easier to compare quotes. But, you need to know the component prices. When you meet again with the dealer in Afton, explain that it's a big purchase for you, and you need for him to break out the pricing for the tractor and each piece of equipment to understand the deal.

Since you're uncomfortable about the total, for good reason at this point, don't feel pressure to make a deal right then. I just checked the Kioti "find a dealer" map, and there are five Kioti dealers within reasonable striking distance of you. My favorite dealer, out of several, is 100 miles from me, and it's been no problem over the past five years.

Once you understand the pricing you're being quoted, just make some calls to other dealers. Tell them you've done your due diligence on brand and model and are ready to buy if you can find the best pricing that's fair to everyone. It won't surprise anyone that you're shopping around, so don't be reluctant to do it. However, in fairness to the Afton dealer (or any other that gives you a firm quote), I definitely would not say what the quotes are that you've gotten. It's enough for the dealers to know you're being diligent about this. Apart from just being the right thing to do, you might well be dealing with the different dealers again in the future for service, parts and more equipment. So you want to be known as a straight shooter who gives everyone the opportunity to earn your business.

A Kioti dealer's margin on new tractor sales is actually pretty thin, but the dealer wants to sell tractors, obviously. Unless something has changed at Kioti USA corporate recently, Dealers aren't restricted from selling out of their immediate geographical areas. So there is some competition for the sale, but also for bragging rights on market reach. :)

Thank You, Great advice. I just got off the phone with the Afton dealer he broke everything down for me. He said he might be able to save me some money with attachments that are not Kioti that he thinks is better quality for a lower price. I’m meeting him Thursday and he will have the tractor combination there for me to try. He told me shop around he is very competitive on price. He also will set up and deliver for that price. So I’ll see what happens on Thursday. Would you add anything if I buy? Is there anything important you think I’m missing? Thank you for all your help. Wayne

Have them include free pick up and delivery (or on site) for any warranty repairs. If you can't trailer it yourself that would cost you about $200 per round trip.

finance price here for a 3150, cab, loader and front blower was 32, cash was maybe 34, this was in MAR. keep in mind with implements, some of those might be worth buying used.

Sounds like the dealer's willing to work with you, a good sign. Some more thoughts:

Did he mention filling the rear tires without charge, with a non-toxic antifreeze solution or, even better, beet juice? That's worth as much as $300 or more, and may be something he'd throw in as a sweetener. The CK3510SE sits high and has a relatively narrower stance, even with the big optional Titan turf tires (R3). About 2" higher with R4s; nearly 4" with R1s. One dealer has told me he fills the rears on every new loader tractor he sells as a matter of safety, in addition to performance. Regardless of the tire type you choose, and even if you were an experienced operator, it's important for serious loader and grapple work that can make you tippy. You probably won't be hauling that backhoe around most of the time, and the Frontier BB2060 you've been quoted will only add about 465 lbs. :) Filled tires are also very helpful for added weight for 3-pt ground engagement tasks, like using the box blade, plowing snow.

Another possible throw-in is the 50 hr scheduled service. The Hydraulic, HST and eng. oil filters are about $70 total, plus the engine oil and the dealer's shop labor, so it wouldn't be a big give as a sweetener.

EarPlug mentioned hauling the tractor. That's a good point. Ask what the dealer's round-trip charge would be for pickup and delivery for warranty as well as out-of-warranty service work. It costs him real money to run a rollback with a driver, but if it's under 50 miles each way, he might commit to do it for $100 or less for warranty work, and throw in the first one or two calls without charge.

It doesn't hurt to ask for sweeteners as part of the back-and-forth, as long as you do it with good humor and a smile. I'm a big supporter of small businesses, so I try to look at a deal from both the buyer and vendor perspectives. Shopping for a new tractor can be a lot of fun, and may turn out to be for you as well!
