I grab my modded 4910 more than any other saw. Beats the 026, 261 or the 550 IMO.

I have one that was modded by Kevin Lavanway in Michigan. It is a really nice 50 cc saw!

Kevin is in my chainsaw repair group. He is one heck of a porter.

His stuff reminds me of some of the ported saws I used to run way back. 346 372 etc.

Lot of porters out there today not on the same level as him to get the gains there.

Using the $99 shipped clone G2511 yesterday trimming monster pine tree. With the nano set up.
Made short order of it all with the nano and smooth cutting.

Clone of the echo 2511 that is over $500.

I did notice the cap plastic retainers twist up like that one guy was complaining about (that said he cut them off).
I just filled up leaving cap hanging like normal. Then right back in no issues.

Old pic but the set up.

I knew they were strong PP415 PP425 65cc and PP445 71cc. But dang PP425 on dyno.
445 was my favorite of these. Quad ports in 65-71.

Joe did a stock poulan 425 65cc on dyno then his ported. Said 9hp up goal on this one 😮😎👍

PP425 just the updated PP415 65cc. Updated tank, air filter set ups and air injection, pto bearing seal set ups.

Guy in my chainsaw repair group did a video of his new build yesterday.

I made a meme from it for our morning laugh.

It does sound peppy.
But I dont see it replacing the 572 too, like I keep hearing from people. Just 562 class. Not by the way she pulls down in the bigger cuts.

For the folks that dont know why the G366 pro has a open cylinder.

One thing I do like on the pro version of this G366 is the better air filter set up. Hopefully the walbro carb on pro is better too.

If your research the cylinder that they copied and used on pro has been on the MS361 overseas since around 2013 OEM. Places like India, Malaysia etc. Still sold today OEM open port too over there.

2 cylinders listed for them overseas. But only the closed one was used in US.

Dealer that opens them up = I'll add some more. The closed and open are running neck in neck power wise.. but I'll say this, as someone who handles more FT cyls then, well more than 99.999 percent of the country, the pro cylinder is the nicest made ft cylinder period. 372xp pro being close second, but Def second.

one last thing, one of the most famous OEM Stihl saws was, well. Open port.. I do not favor it personally but a good saw is where you find it.

Some pics of the OEM and afm pro cylinders.

@newbury since you bought one. I dug deeper into the stihl ones the cylinder was copied from overseas. Instead of the one used in US.

Typical local firewood cutter. Dont get cleaned till it comes in for work.

Not one fine got by either. Poulan got their air filters right back then.

Just so you know here.

If one has shoulder or hand issues starting saws. I bought dad a echo 3510 with spring assist for Christmas this year.

I gave it to him early at a cook out in fall.

The spring assist 3510 does not pull over as easy as the easy start spring assist stihl 180 I gave him many years ago. So echo version is harder for him to pull over.

I'm going to try one more thing to see if it works for him. If not I will be looking for the wind up easy start stihl 250 for him. Easiest of all for folks with issues starting.

I have hand and shoulder problems also so I have been using battery powered chain saws for the last several years ,no problems. I have 3 different battery chain saws from 14 to 20 inch bars and extra batteries for all. I cut about 5 cords of firewood a year with them also have a Husky 395 gas power which seldom gets used

Update: Well off to either do another easy start saw.

Stihl rescue D handle made it nice for his hand. But the spring assist spring just stops him mid pull. Due to shoulder. On the echo 3510

So I got his easy start 180 and he could start it right up.
The stihl version is 100% easier to start.

So bringing it back home and going to sell it and get him another easy start for back up. 180 210 250.
It will have stock handle back on it by then.

He said he thinking a bigger battery saw but don’t want weight over the echo 3510 stihl 180.

Least now I know the difference for sure.

Spring assist don’t make it easy.
Like the system used in stihl.

I’m a believer in that system now seeing it side by side with him trying them in front of me.

Then I done both. No comparison.

Just so you know.

The Farmertec G255E easy start version does not work like the OEM 250 one.
It works just like the one on the 180 easy start etc.
Had a owner of one check for me.

It dont catch with short pulls and wind up like MS250 ES one. Has to be one long pull like 180 ES etc.

They had them on black Friday sale for $118 shipped from their NJ warehouse. He bought one to try out.

Echo 3510. Bought this for dad as a back up saw to his easy start 180 I gave him years ago. The spring assit echo is not as easy to pull over as the easy start saws.

Whole deal here in this thread. https://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/echo/echo-3510-3410-352/

Like new 14" bar chain set up.

New oem carb kit. Tuned and ready to cut with in my area. To 40:1 VPracing and Efree gas.
Tune could change in your area if shipped.

$150 plus shipping. In Ohio.
If online sale Paypal friends family or local pick up can be cash or whatever.

Prefer to ship after the crazy shipping time going on now. Jan or after is better IMHO.

Echo 3510 pending trade already.

update: NLA it's gone to warmer climates.

Looks like a guy I know in my group wants the 3510.

He just so happen to have 3 250 easy starts. One not in pic already sold in my group.

It is amazing how the battery stuff has progressed.

SIL bought a non running Husq. 254 that 'ran when parked' for $100 with a never used 20" bar and chain. It apparently sat for a couple years so figured the carb was gummed up. He couldn't start it so got me to have a gander, zero compression, nothing so figured the cylinder/piston would be scored to death, nope lot of regular engine oil was in the cylinder tho so some one was trying to up compression. I figured the piston would have an access hole in the top when I took it apart, nope, busted ring land. Dunno how you'd ever bust that unless it did a good backfire on the wrong stroke or bad casting maybe.
The cylinder doesn't have a scratch in it, looks like brand new so I don't think it was used much for a 41 year old saw. Piston, ring, two circlips and base gasket $50 which was a lot cheaper than I thought

I had a nice 254xp the same time I owned a Poulan 325. Both same cc range. Just different bore stroke arrangements.

Both great firewood saws etc. But guy in great white north liked the 254 way more then me. So off it went.

What I have saved from back in 2008 comparing. -
254xp I owned in 2008 and traded off up to NS
I tested this saw against my Poulan pro 325.
What I took out of owning it and comparing.

What a saw 254xp 45mm 34mm. Runs like the Poulan 325 46mm 32mm, but feels more balanced and nimble in my hands.

Husqvarna 254, Poulan 325 = Partner 5500
