Yes sometimes more than others........

He just has me intrigued to see what a half million dollar sharpen looks like. I know my buddy has 5 sharpeners and that any good stihl dealer have too and are 15,000 new and around 10,000 used. I just think somebody is blowing smoke up someones![]()

I think whats going on is happysawer was like the guy in this video at the beginning, he couldn't figure out how to sharpen his chain and became the un-happysawer so he started taken his saw chains to the half million dollar sharpener shop.
These square chain sharpeners I thought was expensive but still at $1-1,500.00, one could buy quite a few of them for half million. I like to go into square sharpening but Granberg is all I can afford for now on only 20 cord/year, I'll just keep it on my wish list.....
Kinda long video but interesting...

I had silvey for square. The early version that they sold to simington.
USG for round.
I still file by hand for my own stuff. Unless there is a ton of chains lined up.
Can see both in this one pic. I only had $700 in both bought used separately.

You are wrong i had never sharpened a chainsaw chain i wanted my chain sharpened so i had my dealer do it cost $8 dollars, my dealer showed me the new glass in closed machine a large machine like you see the CNC machines, service guy told me they had two and cost 500K each, i know nothing about these machines or do i know anything about their costs just saying what i was told.
Next time i am at my dealesr shop i will take a picture of his chain sharping machine
=====
Now after watching many chain sharping videos i ordered the small Oregon chain sharping kit and the Oregon Bar holding device, and will be doing my own sharping.
I hope i have cleared up any misunderstandings.

At $8 a chain, it would take 62,500 chains to pay for each machine. Just doesn't make sense. Maybe it's a CNC machine that he does other stuff with as well? That's the only way it would make sense.

Yep. and Yep again.
What if I charge $100.00/chain.........

This why I keep even the cheap saws around. To grab parts from when needed to do stuff on the cheap for occasional use homeowner.
Ran with chain brake on and clutch spring lost its temper. Broke through the brake band too.
Was out of the poulan zama carb kits to try to make sure this saw needed a new carb or not. Cost for new carb is so close. But being I am curious. I remembered a new stihl 180 carb that has been in a bin for 2 years now. Guessed right both use same kit.
Using PP4018 might be a 4218 for part instead of rebuilding it. Just had a slight score and had good used p+c already. Long as newer strato seems most swap.
Also needs a carb kit or a new carb. Being almost same prices.
Sold the little woodshark one yesterday too.
Nice piston still in the little saw
