I had a thread last year on the JD Ballast box and filling it with concrete. I am ready to tackle that job but I need some help.

1)I believe portland cement was the heaviest and I needed 5 or 6 94lb bags.

2)Since I have not worked with cement before, do I mix it right in the ballast box, one bag at a time.

3)I remember one poster said I should caulk the inside of the ballast box. I also was told to drill holes where the PCV pipe that I will use to hold tools will come out the bottom. My question is, while pouring the cement, how do I get the PVC to stay where I want it?

4)I have a pallet with wheels on it that can handle 1000 lbs, should I go a little less cement to make sure it is under 1000 lbs? How many bags would be just under 1000 lbs?

Thanks
Bob

I looked at them but thought it easier to start a new one. I need some instructions on how to do it.

Thanks

As far as weight goes portland cement weighs in at 94lbs per cubic foot. Personally I would mix your cement outside of the box to insure you get a thourough mix. As far as your other question I don't know.
