John Deere Auger

Today i got my new John Deere decals for my auger. They sure look good on the auger.:thumbsup: I also noticed recently that my auger bit is bent by rolling it on smooth pavement. Tomarrow I will bring it down to the shop and put it in the hydraulic press to bend it back. Then after It is bent back, i will paint the other half of the PTO shaft and will be compleatly done with the restoration.

Speaking about the pto shaft, I would be concerned about the length of the tube, it seems to be very short. Might be why it is bending to start with. Since the mast pivots around the top link pin, I would raise and lower the boom to mark how much of the shaft remains engaged.

Well today i straitend out the auger bit and painted the other half of the PTO shaft. The PTO shaft has a lot or room when on my tractor so there is a lot of area that the force is distributed. I have atleast a foot or so of PTO extra. In the picture, the smaller PTO shaft is from my tiller. I had to fix my PTO clutch.
