JD855 Drawbar

Can anyone advise me how a drawbar is connected to the slot beneath the transaxle on this machine. I use a towball on a towing A frame on the 3 point hitch, but now require a towing setup that has a lower centre of gravity and releases the 3 point hitch for other uses.

You can go to the JD parts, put in model 855 and all the parts schematics are available.

Thanks for the replies. I have lots of information there to fuel my research. I need to examine the underside of the transaxle to see exactly what is currently in place so that I can figure out what I need to get.

All you have to do is stick the drawbar in and line up the holes then put a pin in it.

I was too cheap to buy a drawbar and I couldn't find any 1" bar stock local so I bought two 30" long pieces of 1/2"x2" flat bar. I welded them together and bored the holes with a bi metal hole saw.
