JD790 Dash Gauges Indicate Problem?

Could the fact that the fuel and temp gauges are not working but the fuses are all OK be on purpose (to indicate a failed component such as the seat safety switch, etc.)? I am working on the tractor for a no-starting problem but even with a new battery and air filters, I was next replacing the fuel lines and trying to eliminate an air leak - but noticed this gauge failure while turning the tractor over. Any hunches out there?

No, the gauge circuit is a separate circuit.

Does it crank over at all ?

If it does crank, do you get any smoke from exhaust ?

If no smoke, did you try removing your fuel shut off solenoid ?

An apparent irrelevant display failure warning sequence is indeed sometimes programmed into machinery control computers to alert technicians to a specific problem not necessarily directly related to the warnings, apparently this widely used in aviation. Typically the sequence would make no sense to the operator/driver/pilot. I learned this while googling my own tractor issues.

If your tractor turns over then the problem is likely not NSS related and the seat switch not the issue. I don't dare ask but here it is anyway: since your fuel gauge is not working have you made sure you have fuel in the tank?
