JD HYDRO 185 (HYDRO PROBLEMS)

Just bought used JD 185 Mower. Worked great 1st time on my 2 acre res lot but 2nd time the machine started to slow down and the reverse would barely move! I let it sit a while then it would go again but soon it would happen again! The third time I tried to cut The problem is getting worse and happens even quicker! I checked the fluid each time and it seems that it expands to the top of the fill spout and noticed it leaking also! I need some help!! I am mechanically inclined, this is my first Deere! I've been told to change the fluid & filter ? I have no manual where can I get one and I need some repair help! thanks Steve
