JD 2520, start issue

Loaded a 2012 2520 I bought, on a trailer and drove 175 miles...got home, tractor would start but as soon as I put it in a range it would die....finally got it off trailer and let it sit 30 min......tried again and it started and acted normal...have put 5 hrs on it and no issues....
Totally lost as to what it could be...

Do yourself a favor here. Tractors come in many configurations and the electrics can be quite different from one version to another. Since what you describe is most likely electrical in nature, knowing which version tractor you have will make a difference in the answers and replies you receive. (cab/open station, power/mechanical shuttle, that sort of thing)

Usually it’s a safety switch, the pto, seat switch, forward reverse pedal etc.

I have the jd2305- while it hasn’t happened to me- I’ve seen YouTube videos…it has had issues with the V4 diode or the fuel shutoff
Solenoid causing an issue where it will start, but not stay running.
If it happens again, might see if your model has similar.
I did have once where it would start, but the second I let off the key- would die. It was a blown fuse in the Eng bay holder. Trailer wire loom I put on got pinched by 3 point arm.
