Thanks for the ideas guys. I am in the process of building a greenhouse right now but once I am done, I may have to give this a try. The garage needs new siding on it also so I may just strip all of the old alum siding off before I do this and that will help with the weight also.

Go for it "Mr. 428", Its easy. One step at a time. Its good to rip off the siding frist that way you can put hard points to jack on an tie them off to the framing easy. good luck with your undertaking.

ummm-- I'd wait till AFTER its jacked up. Whatever is on the siding of garage is giving it lateral/cross strength. Once its jacked up and on new foundation/rebuilt sill bottom then you can rip off the old siding.

Even if you already have sheathing on , for each layer you peel off (ie aluminum siding), you remove the structural integrity.

I agree. Plus what weight are we talking about? I can not see a 24x24 garage having more than 400# in siding and that is being generous.

I've moved a 24 X 24 pole building. Cross braced it well, jacked it up with 4 farm jacks, stuck a tandem axle trailer under it and hauled it away. Just make sure that the bracing prevents distortion of the building when you jack it up.
