Is the new member pace normal?

I enjoy surfing the "new posts" and welcoming new members. But I am wondering if the rate or pace of new members is normal? Or am I just seeing the new member posts since the new requirements dropped.

I just watched a Computerphile YT video about how "bots" are becoming hard to distinguish from real people. Even to the trained eye. Would appreciate hearing the moderators take on that as they are probably way more educated and aware than I am. Are we being invaded by bots?

Fun fact: my Dad got a brand new (at the time) Commodore PET when I was 5 (1977). I remember him turning it on and it displayed "ready". He said, "ready for what?"

No, absolutely NO!!!! LOL

The problem is when people use AI to ask a question, then give replies to answers also using AI, then you can't tell an idiot from AI. Idiots are easier to spot, so I can be nicer with my responses.
The Forum is already interesting without adding the bots.

I've seen that too. The AI crafted replies with bold lettering and subtitles are a dead give away. I just ignore those posts, if not also the member.
