The 110 volt trailer welding was a joke in reference to the great 1/4" 110 volt MIG trailer debate here a while back... Have no intention of stick welding an aluminum trailer :stirthepot:

i bought some of the Aluminum stick rod, but haven't really tried it yet, would be interested to see how well it works

FYI, they burn off fast! You really have to move when welding aluminum with SMAW! :shocked:

At the price of those Aluminum stick rods I think I will be sticking to the tig or mig if at all possible.
I want to try some more Aluminum mig welding to, it worked ok the one time I tried it but had to REALLY crank up the wire speed

They are interesting to run - I've had decent results on 1/8" material and thicker.

Not tig welded pretty, but looks fine.

I've seen you post that pic a few times here and on WW, but I never "got it" It looks like it is floating on the water. Is that just how the photo was taken, or is that for real? If so, why? I would expect a bridge like that to continue at about the same height it left the banks, more or less, but this one dips down tot he water surface, or at least close.

It appears to me that one or two of Shield Arc's welds broke. :laughing: But I guess that is to be expected him being a beginner. Ed
