Inground Pool - Help Please

From the little I know about the pacific northwest, I would tend to agree with you. Here in Georgia, we're in the midst of a 4 or 5 year drought and have plenty of HOT weather. So, we will have plenty of opportunities to put the pool to use. Additionally, I added a heater to add a couple of months to the swim season. I think we should be able to open the pool in April and not close it until the end of September (maybe even into early October - we'll see).
To update, started filling the pool with water Saturday afternoon and just completed it this evening. I'm estimating about 35,000 gallons (so much for the drought ). Should be adding chemicals tomorrow to get the water balanced. With any luck, the kids will be swimming after school tomorrow.
Don't know when I'll get to the retaining wall. The way the dogs are getting into the dirt / mud, I don't think my bride will give me too much time before she starts cracking the whip.
I keep telling her "Honey, if I only had that tractor..."
The real downside to this project is the toll it has taken on my lawn. Between the tractor, the skidsteer and 3 loads of concrete (24 yards) traveling over my front yard, my grass is in terrible shape. Oh, well, at least the kids are happy.

Having a pool is a lot of money,no matter where you live.We have 8 kids or grandkids that are 9 years and under.They are the reason we have a pool.

That is the same reason "we" want the pool also. The kids love to swim and would spend endless hours given the opportunity. I grew up living on a lake and we swam all summer long. Of course there were no maintenance requirements for a lake.
