Tractor
John Deere 4110 HST
I'm interested in purchasing several 3 PH impliments that I plan on using on my new JD 4110 HST with turf tires as follows
1) 4' box blade w/scarifiers
2) 5' rear scraper blade
3) 6' landscape rake (or should it be 5'?)
Are these the proper sizes for this size tractor? The tractor hasn't been delivered yet, but I wanted to get a headstart on pickup the impliments. These are all going to be used around the house and cutting trails through the woods. The tractor is coming with a 54" MMM, 410 loader and a 54" front blade. Any help would be appreciated.

It depends on 3 things, 1 is it mfwd or 4 wd?, 2 what tires did you get ag, industrial, or terf?, next how much work do you expect to do with it? Now for me I just like to have a couple of inches of implament (box blade, landscape rake, angle blade) wider than my tires, if not I have a tendasy of hanging it on trees and stuff. I have a 4600 JD and I use 6' implaments.

I put a 4 foot box blade on my 4100, a Kingkutter from Fleet Farm for only $270. Later I had a chance to look at the Kingcutters built 60" wide. All the same gauge pcs are used on the 60" models as was used on my 48, so I am pretty sure its going to hold up. To it I added a slab of steel from the steel junkyard, for $40. It adds 350 pounds to the back surface of the 350 pound box blade. This seems like a good combination for loader ballast. The box blade actually measures about 49" wide, and I have the turfs put on inside-out, for a width of about 48.5", so coverage is OK. The 4100 is pretty small (guess it is same as 4110), so cat 1 3-pt hitch arms are close to tires, especially with chains on turfs. Once flipped inside out, I have 1.5" clearance from tire chains to 3pt arms on each side, so sway links must be kept pretty close to tight. I have not had opportunity to move much dirt yet as there's still frost, but I am guessing from experience moving snow that any bigger would cause me traction trouble, requireing tire weights. Also, since I use the BB for general loader ballast, I am glad its only 49" wide, or I would have a big gash in my garage wall. Snow removal requires me to be close to the buildings at times, so it would be easy to forget the blade was sticking out and run it into something.

mike, your sizes are correct for the 4100 [i own one].

i do not own a rake, but i think 6 would be fine since a 5ft blade works ok.

Is it impliments, implaments or implements? Anyway, spellDing aside, I sure would think a 6' rake would work well for almost any tractor that has 4WD. The load is so small compared to a boxscraper with rippers, tiller, blade etc. that I would want all I could get, Rat...
