Our daughter had a Honda Mini trail 50cc at 6 yrs old, we would ride thru the woods with her in the lead.
I had a little ATV I use to bomb around the ranch on, at like 5. Rolled that sucker at least a dozen time. My parents didn't even make me wear a helmet, plus I had a single shot .22 on my shoulder.

Then I upgraded to a 1972 Chevy 2500 truck at age 10. I hit more damn irrigation ditches with that thing. Bouncing off the roof of the tuck.

I now have a turbo rzr that I can hit 100 mph pretty easily.

I have a healthy respect for machines and pushing them has allowed me to know the limits. Sheltered kids don't know these limits.

stuff can happen to anyone at any time. his reaction time is faster then mine
Which is totally why he should have a driver’s license at 5, his reaction time is better. Makes a good DD when you’ve had too many.

More they were there to free up a body to throw and stack hay. Because 5 year old girls that weigh 40 lbs are of no use throwing 55 lb hay bales all day
This is exactly how I ended up on the drivers seat…

I see both sides of this. I was I when I started running the riding mower on the farm acreage.

I also attended a funeral for a co-workers step son. His 'real' dad let him run a zero turn unsupervised on a hilly property. It only takes one accident to be fatal.

I lost a wee bit of fingernail on an old rotary push mower. Stick got caught. As soon as I removed the stick, it bit me. I was about 5 at the time. Still have the scar!
Thank you! That’s all I’m trying to say, and each kid is different. Maybe at 9 or 10 the kid is mature enough to handle the responsibility.

Damn, maybe you need to be wrapped in bubble wrap too, along with the kid.
Oh boy, I’m stinging from the internet burn! You got me there! Did you think of that all on your own?

You should have stopped with “no experience with a zero turn”. It’s a totally different machine.
But then you would not have responded.

I’m sure one call to CPS would have this sorted… might even have the child removed from the home…

Saw it happen in a family laundry… the whole family worked and the young son was pressing shirts…

The aptitude of kids is not set in stone… only the legal age of majority.

At 12 I had my school work permit and worked at a auto dealership… starting cars, charging batteries, washing and fueling.

I guess many things could have happened.

What really scares me and I have seen lifelong injuries is school sports.

Neighbor girl on the jr. high volleyball team blew out her knee and my brother same freshman year JV football.

So now your balls drop. You want to play tough guy?
Life is hard, it’s even harder when you’re stupid. I’ll split the airfare with ya so you can come and teach me a lesson. Relax, tough guy, it’s the internet. Don’t get your panties in a wad.

Your the only one upset since no one agrees with you, this is the wrong forum for people like you. people here are pretty independent non bubble wrapped.
