I hate my PTO

My biggest problem is getting the cover to slide. I lowered my 3 pt too far one time and caused the cross bar of my quick hitch to contact it which damaged the inner cover. I need to cut it back or replace the cover.

Don, one more thing to try is to take a Sharpie marker and mark a place on the PTO shaft of the implement you’re hooking up (either the high point or low point, up to you) then when you bring the implement shaft up to the tractor you can see where to line things up and it will slide right on.
Turning a PTO, sliding collars and pushing forward and pulling back all at the same time while your back is going out is enough to drive you crazy. This little trick has helped me a lot.

It is corn silage time of year already,
the drought this summer has really hurt our yields.
We are down over a third.

This year was some great yields, last year we did not get enough heat units. The corn was over 11.5' and had cobs at 6. No clue what the yield was, only 20 acres planted, harvested about a 1/3 of it. Filled the silo and now have way to much left over to pick. My friend who owns the farm always plants like he is expecting a drought. Glad the new farm has a giant corn crib.
