Hustler Fastrack SD
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section. I just bought a Hustler Fastrack SD 48, and I just noticed this chain, attached to the deck. I was wondering if the chain, (in the picture) is suppose to be attached like this?. Can anyone explain what is the purpose of the chain?

Yes its supposed to be like that.
The chain is there for adjusting the mower belt spring tension

And if you want it to look better, just zip-tie the excess to itself so it's off the deck and not rattling around.

I had the same thing and this is the mod I did, just used a spring from an old cott that I took apart.

All I wanted was to stop the paint not be worn out by the chain.

I'd thought of using heat shrink tubing to cover the excess chain. But it still would have rubbed on the deck. Your method is a great solution.
