Howto "flush hydraulic fluid suction screen"

My MF 25E manual says to flush the hydraulic suction screen with clean transmission fluid before putting it back in. What does that mean? Put clean fluid on the inside of the screen and let it flow out through the screen?

How necessary is this step?

sounds pretty crazy ... I would pressure wash it carefully and let dry.

I just did mine last week. I think I just brushed it off then cleaned it with a rag as best I could. Mine has a magnet inside I cleaned off with a rag too.
