Kioti DK40
I am currently looking at anew snow blower for my new Kioti DK40 tractor.

Not sure about going with a 72" or a 84" so I was hopeing to hear other owners opinions that may have used those size blowers in the rear mount push set up.

I cannot really advise as I dont used blowers. But what was you reasoning for choosing a blower over a blade?

What part of PA you in and how much snow do you get?

I have a twin auger 84" wide with a 27" fan and my DK50 runs the heck out of it. I was expecting that I would have stalling problems but that is just not the case with the hydrostat it is easy to modulate the speed. I use it to blow back plowed snow banks and it just does a great job. It got a lot of use this year with our snow fall and it is still coming. CJ

Thanks CJONE That's the kind of info that will help with this decision.

LD1 My driveway is long and most of it is open so it gets drifted shut a lot. Over the years between here and the other place I have found nothing beats the snow blower for getting it done quickly and throwing the snow back far enough that I don't have to worry about having a place to go with the next snowfall.

I also have a 8' snow pusher that is on the front of the machine, it weighs about 800lbs and it offsets the blower so I can steer without the use of chains on the front. The blower weighs in the 1400lb range so the pusher is a good match. With the bucket on the front is a little light. Anyway I would bet that a single auger blower in the high 70's range would be a great fit for your 40. Get the biggest fan you can because at 540rpm they tend not to throw very far if they are on the small side. CJ

I have been offered a good deal on a brand new Buhler Y84 (84") with a 24" 4 blade fan single 16" auger and set up for hyd spout operation pretty sure they weigh about 850 lbs. Based on how you seem to be happy with a dual auger set up I am starting to think this will work good for my needs but I would still like to hear from others who have used the 7FT blower with the DK 40.

Is your DK40 a hydrostat? If it is you will have no problem with a 7' blower. CJ

Yes, speed is the secret , hst is perfect for snow blowers , you should be just fine . I had to have creeper gears installed in my m5700 so i could go slow enough in heavy going with an 84 inch blower , and sure I would have had to have had them with a 6 ft. too .

Yes its a Hydro.. I really haven't had a chance to run anything on the pto as of yet so I really don't have anything to base it on. When I got the snow blower for the JD I had already had the machine for a few years and knew what it would do based on using other pto equipment. This time around I am going in kind of blind.

Keep one thing in mind when in some heavy snow you will be going very very slow with the 84 inch , I have 50 hp pto and will sometimes be in first gear with creepers . You have hst so you can control that speed just right .It's a trade off 6 ft. will be a little faster but cover less ground . The good thing about wider is when you have small snow storms you can cover more ground quickly . Six of one half dozen of another .
