Anything will be better than the last two weeks. One day I was crawling over ledges with 150% slopes; the next day I could barely walk and didn't know WTF was going on.
I get gout occasionally, too. Two changes I've made seem to help:
1. I don't drink, so my gout is brought on by excess protein consumption. I try not to have two meals in a row that include meat.
2. Gout generally comes on in the middle of the night. If I wake up and my right big toe is hurting for no reason I immediately take an Aleve and abstain from eating meat for that day. It almost always will go away during the course of that day. If I still have lingering pain I'll take another Aleve after 12 hours or so. I also take turmeric daily as well to aleviate my normal aches and pains, and only use NSAIDS if I really need them.
