I have to Share with you how I got my tractor:

I have been wanting a tractor for a few years, but it really was an unreasonable purchase. My brother passing in February put the thought of a tractor closer to a possibility.
As the estate was settled, my parents gave my sister and I some money. I paid off a few bills then took the wife to the mall. What do you want?, I asked her.
We spent 800.00 on earrings and a necklace. As the deal was being settled i told her "I'm ordering my tractor!" She was so giddy with the shiny stuff that all she said was "Really!" not an argument one.

The tractor has been good theropy for me, it took my mind off my brother and lets me think of something else. I call it my $20,000 therapy

Anyway, thats how I got my tractor.

I am sorry about the loss of your brother :(. As it relates to tractor acquisition you utilized the "distraction" and "buy off" techniques . These techniques are much less ego damaging than the whining, grovelling, and kowtowing techniques that I have to employ . Use you new tractor safely and well and hold on to those memories. Jay :)

Sorry to hear about your brother....... and congratulations on your tractor.

I made my wife help clear brush, level some dirt, and (the clincher!!!) shovel a foot and half of snow from the driveway :eek: !!! It didn't take long for her to realize we NEEDED a tractor. Of course, i also learned that when she brings home yet another pair of shoes........ i say "Very nice honey".

Congrats on the tractor...very sorry to hear you lost your brother.

And very, very, sorry you had to waste $800 on useless baubles! That could have been a nice implement or two.

I am lucky, my wife dosen't like jewelry. It took me years to get her trained up but it can be done!

Sorry to hear about your brother. I lost my only brother in 1970. Doesn't a day go by I don't think about him. The pain wears off in time, but the "miss" never does. Now, every time you enjoy a minute of "therapy" on the tractor, just remember who made it possible.

And, if your wife is like mine, she's getting just as much pleasure out of seeing YOU happy as she is with her gifts.

How I got my tractor was easy... I just went and bought... well the wife was just a little aprehensive but not mad, especilly when she found a use for it. Then came the mini excavator, same thing just bought it she saw uses for it imediatally never a word said. Then came the dump trailer, same thing never a word now she sayes the mini and the dump trailer is the most usful things we own. Maybe it has a little to do with the fact that 3 years ago I had a heart attack and double bypass and life is tooooooooo short and now she just went through a masectomy and is doing well. I guess the moral of the story is if you can afford it buy itif it makes you happy buy it, tomorrow you may not be here to buy it and have that big smile on your face we all enjoy when we are using our toys and dont let anyone kid you they are still toys !!!!!! They are just real ones not the one we had when we were kids !!!!!!!!!!! V

Sorry to hear about your brother .
I lost my younger brother on 4/4/7 so I can sympathize with you.
Both my parents are gone but losing a brother is different somehow.

Very sorry to hear about your brother. Mine was shot to death in the mid 80's in Cloverleaf (hear in Texas). Its a real loss when you lose them. Enjoy the tractor.

Truly sorry about your brother, he stuck with the Air Force through some really trying times and it is appreciated.

As far as tractors are concerned after looking for several months my wife tells me "We both know you need one, why don't you just buy one already!" Even now, after a bad day at work she may ask if there is anything for me to do on the tractor. Cheers me right up.

Ed
